John Sax

Vice President, Development

John Sax has been turning cutting edge technology into products for over 30 years. At Eliza, he is responsible for managing our development initiatives and ensuring delivery of new products and solutions. John’s career in this area began at Bolt Beranek and Newman (BBN), where he participated in the effort to launch the TCP/IP based Internet under a Defense Advanced Research (DARPA) sponsored by Vint Cerf. Subsequently John ran development groups that built a variety of hardware and software components of the Internet including an IP encryption device, routers, access devices, Ethernet switches, and ATM switches.

During this time John co-founded Ironbridge Networks which built a carrier class core router. After Ironbridge Networks John joined Lucent technologies where he held the positions of VP of engineering of the routing division, CTO of the data networking business group, and general manager of the Lucent Juniper partnership business unit.

In addition to his work on network technology, John has led development groups that built a real-time news delivery system, a speech recognition system, database audit tools, and a web based building security system.
